The Hackbench kernel scheduler benchmark is showing the slowest performance on Ubuntu 18.04.

This system is taking longer to boot on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with its new GNOME Shell desktop than under Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with Unity. Results pre-16.04 aren't available with this test profile relying upon systemd for boot time metrics.

The Redis performance appears to be much better with 18.04 over past LTS releases.

The Stress-NG synthetic kernel benchmarks were rather mixed. A number of them are slower on the latest Ubuntu releases due to the overhead of KPTI/Retpolines.
