Given the kernel bump from just Linux 5.3 to 5.4 and sticking with GCC 9, there aren't any wild swings in the performance when moving from Pop!_OS 19.10 to 20.04 beta but at least the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X continues delivering incredibly strong Linux performance atop recent Linux distribution releases. The main performance benefit in moving from Pop!_OS 19.10 to 20.04 would be in the area of graphics performance when using the default Mesa drivers for Intel and Radeon hardware.
