The System76 Thelio Major with AMD Ryzen Threadripper also saw gains in some areas thanks to the GCC 10 compiler upgrade.
Some Python workloads were measurably faster.
The Vulkan compute performance with VkFFT, NCNN, RealSR-NCNN, and Waifu2x-NCNN averaged to be 40% faster on Pop OS 20.10 thanks to the new Mesa with RADV+ACO by default.
For most workstation workloads, 20.10 was slightly faster than 20.04.
Productivity workloads of Octave, GIMP, GEGL, and RSVG saw some nice uplift on 20.10.
Across the machine learning tests of MNN, NCNN, TNN, Caffe, AI Benchmark, RNNoise, MLPack, Tensorflow-Lite, OneDNN, and LCzero the 20.10 release was 1.176x the performance of 20.04.
