Preview: OS X 10.10 Yosemite vs. Ubuntu Linux GPU Performance

With the last of these tests for our preview OS X Yosemite graphics benchmarks, the popular Xonotic first person shooter was running noticeably faster than Linux with its latest Intel OpenGL driver support.

Running OS X Yosemite Beta 2 it doesn't appear there's any many OpenGL performance optimizations at least not yet for OS X 10.10, but we'll see if things change by the time of the official release in the months ahead. Stay tuned for more OS X Yosemite benchmarks upon Apple officially releasing their OS. When that time comes I'll also test OS X 10.10 on some more recent Apple systems for performance benchmarking against Linux in not just OpenGL graphics but for stressing other subsystems too.
