Optane SSD RAID Performance With ZFS On Linux, EXT4, XFS, Btrfs, F2FS

So that's the number of benchmark results carried out with the Intel Optane NVMe SSDs (and Samsung 970 EVO reference). For summing things up here is the new radar chart we've been experimenting with in the Phoronix Test Suite for the tests that ran successfully across all test configurations:

(Yes, pardon some of the auto-generated colors being a bit close/awkward... Patches always welcome as over the years it's been something needing constant tweaking.) And then the geometric mean based upon the tests that ran across all the file-systems:

Across the tests carried out, F2FS came out as the fastest of the file-systems tested. But ZFS On Linux for instance dominated in some of the tests like the application startup time figures. Following the F2FS RAID wins was XFS and then EXT4. Coming in next week will be results looking at the promising Bcachefs file-system that might be mainlined to the Linux kernel this year. Additional ZFS On Linux 0.8 benchmarks will also be coming up in some different configurations.
