Conclusion:

With DDR2 memory now shipping with frequencies in excess of 1200MHz, this 4GB PC2-6400 kit doesn't break any speed or performance barriers, but it does present a new well-designed cooling system. With its dual copper heatpipes and larger aluminum fin array that almost doubles the effective surface area of the original Reaper HPC, the ReaperX HPC is simply great. We were able to push this memory from its DDR2-800MHz stock frequency up past DDR2-1066MHz with ease. For those concerned about aesthetics, the ReaperX memory looks fantastic. The Reaper and ReaperX aren't OCZ's first innovative memory cooling solutions, but going back they have had the XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders and the water-cooling-capable Flex XLC on their vast selection of system memory products.

The OCZ ReaperX HPC 2 x 2GB DDR2-800 Dual Channel Kit is available online for less than $140 USD, which is modest for a kit of its stature and memory cooling capabilities. The lone downfall with the ReaperX is the larger aluminum fin array occupying the DIMM slot next to it, which prevents all four DDR2 memory slots from being occupied on most motherboards and with some motherboards will prevent you from using its dual channel capabilities. On the plus side, OCZ's ReaperX memory supports NVIDIA Enhanced Performance Profiles, competitive performance, and is backed by their lifetime warranty with Extended Voltage Protection.
