When getting things started on the open-source OpenArena 0.8.8 game and running it at 2560 x 1600 for the Samsung 30-inch LCD monitor, the frame-rate of the MSI GeForce GTX 650 was at 70 FPS. The performance of the MSI GeForce GTX 650 was right in line with the GTX 550 Ti on the NVIDIA side and the AMD Radeon HD 5830.

With Reaction Quake 3, the frame-rate was much higher but still generally right in line with the GTX 550 Ti (and slightly behind the GTX 460) and then right behind the HD 5830 and HD 6770.

With the Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark, the GeForce GTX 650 put out just a 15 FPS average on Ubuntu Linux. The performance was in line with the GTX 460, GTX 550 Ti, and Radeon HD 5830. The performance was ahead of the Radeon HD 6770, HD 7850, and other lower-end GPUs.
