For those curious about 4K gaming with Mad Max, the NVIDIA Vulkan driver makes the game much more playable:

Across the board the NVIDIA Vulkan results were much better than the NVIDIA OpenGL performance for the Mad Max Linux port by Feral Interactive. These results are great to see and show the potential for Vulkan, particularly for games/workloads where the games can do much better when properly multi-threaded. I'll have more Mad Max OpenGL vs. Vulkan results on Friday. As always, if you appreciate all of our Linux benchmarking seven days per week, consider showering your support by subscribing to Phoronix Premium where you can also benefit from ad-free browsing, multi-page articles on a single page, and other benefits. Besides more NVIDIA OpenGL vs. Vulkan Mad Max tests, Intel Kabylake numbers are coming up as well as some AMD Ryzen tests with Mad Max.
