NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Shows Very Strong Compute Performance Potential
Darktable RAW photography processing with OpenCL is beginning to hit a bottleneck unless vastly increasing the resolution of the images for processing. The ROCm 1.9 OpenCL stack on the Vega GPU had worked, but was slower than the NVIDIA cards.
The RX Vega 64 comes ahead of the GTX 1080 Ti for maximum global memory bandwidth thanks to its HBM2 memory, but the RTX 2080 Ti with GDDR6 comes out well in front of the Vega GPU.
The single-precision float performance with this OpenCL benchmark also was easily handed to the RTX 2080 Ti.
