Radeon vs. Nouveau Open-Source Drivers On Mesa Git + Linux 4.9

The RadeonSI Gallium3D driver has already seen some optimizations for the BioShock Infinite game, but the GTX 680 who re-clocks well on Nouveau shows that there is still more performance tuning needed for the RadeonSI driver specifically with this ported game. As expected, the GTX 780 Ti is still the worst-performer of the bunch due to its re-clocking support on Nouveau not fully working and even when stepping to the 0a performance level first, its performance is still unplayable for most Linux games.

Interestingly, the GTX 680 re-clocked on Nouveau was faster than the RX 480 and other AMD GPUs tested at 4K.

But when turning to Dota 2, the Nouveau performance was very poor and came well behind all of the AMD GPUs tested on this open-source driver comparison.
