The Performance Impact Of MDS / Zombieload Plus The Overall Cost Now Of Spectre/Meltdown/L1TF/MDS
PostgreSQL read performance was another one of the real-world workloads seeing slower performance with the MDS mitigations even when HT is kept active. PostgreSQL has already seen large hits to its performance from the earlier Spectre/Meltdown mitigations.
The GIMP imaging program was performing operations ever so slightly slower but could be seen across the board with the MDS mitigations.
Redis was also seeing slightly lower performance out of these newest Linux kernel patches.
