When looking at the RAW image file converting performance with dcraw, the results were very close between all three tested environments.

Using the GraphicsMagick test profile we looked at the HWB Color Space, Local Adaptive Thresholding, and Resizing tasks. The 64-bit Karmic performed better than the 32-bit counterpart with HWB Color Space and Resizing, but with those tasks Mac OS X 10.6.2 still ended up providing the best performance in this OpenMP benchmark.

Mac OS X 10.6.2 beat Ubuntu 9.10 again, this time with the 7-Zip compression performance by about 10% for the 64-bit build and 15% for the 32-bit version.
