MacOS 10.12 Sierra was faster than Ubuntu 16.04 with both compilers when it came to code compilation speed, at least for ImageMagick...

But with the PHP compilation test, building with GCC on Linux was faster while the Clang compile time was similar under Ubuntu and macOS.

C-Ray was fastest on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS when compiled with GCC 5.4. The C-Ray multi-threaded ray-tracer is one of the tests that is very compiler prone and where GCC on its latest versions is faster than Clang.

The performance was close with Stockfish.
