The read performance in CacheBench is virtually identical between the two operating systems.

The write performance in CacheBench was also similar.

At compressing a 2GB file using LZMA compression, the ZFS-based Nexenta performed at about the same speed as the EXT3-based Ubuntu 32-bit. The 64-bit Ubuntu with EXT3 had performed about 16% faster than the rest. The newer Linux kernel had not affected the LZMA compression performance.
