When it came to the Java benchmarks, Intel's Clear Linux was simply dominating across these various benchmarks carried out. Recently Intel has been investing in optimizing Clear Linux for OpenJDK Java performance.

Leap did have the fastest performance for John The Ripper.

Clear Linux is also still the fastest at SVT-AV1 video encoding. It's not due to to Clear's default compiler tags but heard back at OSTS 2019 that the SVT performance wins is likely due to its power management behavior compared to other Linux distributions.

Clear also won big in the x265 video encoding performance while openSUSE performance strangely slow.
