To some surprise, not even the PostgreSQL database server benchmark was affected by the "-march" optimized kernels.

In the end, there were only slight performance differences from these optimized kernel builds when testing on Ubuntu 18.10 with the kernels built using GCC 8.

The "optimized" kernels did hurt the Apache HTTPD performance.
