The OpenSSL results show a regression for Linux 3.14~3.15 while the performance receded again on Linux 3.18 but has recovered with Linux 4.4.

Some buffer tests with PostgreSQL show the performance improving with the more recent Linux kernel releases.

For the single-threaded PostgreSQL instance, Linux 3.11 through Linux 3.13 was the high point while since Linux 3.14 has been back to its "normal" levels for this Xeon Haswell system.

With heavy contention for PostgreSQL, the performance has improved with the newer releases.
