In none of the OpenGL benchmarks ran was the Intel 945G graphics faster with the unofficial Gallium3D driver compared to the i945 "classic" DRI driver that Intel officially maintains. For Gallium3D fans, at least the i915g performance is better than LLVMpipe.

Did the classic i915 DRI driver performance improve though during the 8.0 cycle for the i945G? On the next page are some bonus benchmarks to answer that question.
