The Ogg encoding performance was also close.

With LZMA file compression, Ubuntu 9.04 was slightly faster than OpenSolaris 2009.06, but it was by less than 3%.

When encrypting a 2GB file using GnuPG, OpenSolaris 2009.06 took the win. The ZFS-based OpenSolaris was about 12% faster than the EXT3-bearing Ubuntu 9.04 release.
