Caffe was one of the few workloads where the performance actually regressed from Ice Lake to Tiger Lake.

But the 1165G7 was ramping up its clocks higher than the 1065G7 and still coming out behind...

One of the biggest surprises with this testing was seeing the context switching performance regress hard from Ice Lake to Tiger Lake. While Tiger Lake has increased security and hardware mitigations, the context switching performance was more than twice as slow as the Core i7 1065G7 and that put it slower than Renoir but at least not as bad as Whiskey Lake and its reliance on the default software mitigations.

For other multi-threaded workloads, the Core i7 1165G7 continued to be outperformed by the six-core Ryzen 5 4500U.
