For today's Linux benchmarking are first some results comparing the Pentium G4400 to the other Skylake CPUs within my possession: Core i5 6500 and Core i5 6600K. Following that are some thermal, power efficiency / performance-per-Watt, and performance-per-dollar benchmark results for these Skylake processors on Ubuntu Linux. First though for this initial Skylake Pentium Linux benchmarking are results comparing this $65 processor to almost three dozen other Linux systems in our test lab and as part of the performance monitoring infrastructure.

All of the Skylake systems were running Ubuntu 15.10 x86_64 with the Linux 4.4-rc2 kernel and Mesa 11.1-devel Git. All of the benchmarks for this Intel CPU comparison were facilitated via the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software.

Enjoy the results from this ~$60 Intel Skylake processor!
