First up was Dota 2 where the Iris performance was still coming in short of the "classic" i965 driver used by default for current Intel graphics hardware.

One of the many benefits of Gallium3D though is it allows more efficient driver implementations. With Dota 2 and its OpenGL renderer, the CPU usage did come in slightly lower with the Iris driver.

In the case of OpenArena, meanwhile, its performance was a few frames or about 8% faster than the i965 driver.

But Iris did have some spikes in the frame time for this game, though the average frame-time was lower than the i965 driver.

In the case of this game, Iris actually had slightly higher CPU utilization due to a number of spikes while running the benchmark.

Tesseract meanwhile has a lot of untapped potential still with Iris Gallium3D.
