First up was the single-threaded PHPBench test case where the Core i7-1065G7 came out to be 1.17x the speed of the Core i7-8550U.

During that testing, the Ice Lake CPU hit up to 3.89GHz with an average of 3.83GHz while the Kabylake-R laptop was hitting its 4.0GHz turbo frequency and averaging out to a 3.9GHz peak for this single-threaded benchmark.

So if averaging that out, the Core i7-1065G7 was delivering roughly 1.21x perf-per-clock of the Kabylake-R Dell XPS notebook.

This carried through other single-threaded benchmarks as well. The Core i7-1065G7 within the Dell XPS 7390 was doing a good job of hitting its 3.9GHz turbo peak frequency often in these workloads.
