When rendering on the CPU with the Blender 3D modeling software, the time to render a scene improved by about 30% with this modern Intel CPU having Hyper Threading enabled.

In some scientific workloads using OpenMP via Rodinia and Parboil, Hyper Threading does provide a noticeable use although certainly not as great as having additional physical cores.

In most multi-threaded workloads carried out, Hyper Threading is still very much relevant in 2019.

Multi-threaded VP9 video encoding with vpxenc was one of the few cases that didn't end up translating to any measurable benefit when Hyper Threading was enabled.
