The Core i9 12900K performance wasn't leaking for all workloads but with Xmrig for instance it was pulling in behind the Ryzen 9 5900X when it came to this CPU miner benchmark.

In such multi-threaded workloads, the Core i9 12900K again was pulling significantly more power than the other processors tested.

For a single-threaded test like JSON parsing with simdjson, Alder Lake was performing particularly well -- when landing on a P core.

For a single-threaded test case like JSON parsing, the Core i9 12900K was pulling just 33 Watts on average with a 38 Watt peak.

Alder Lake was also performing favorably for image encoding with benchmarks around WebP and AVIF.
