Amazon EC2 Cloud Compute Performance: December vs. February

Redis is one of the real-world workloads that does take a performance hit from the Spectre and Meltdown mitigation. Similar to our testing on many bare metal systems and some KVM instances, the Redis affect on Amazon EC2 is quite significant. Intel's Clear Linux remained much faster than the four other tested Linux distributions.

But going back to the more CPU-focused tests, the performance difference on Amazon EC2 now compared to December is mostly negligible.
