The 7-Zip compression results between Debian Etch and Debian Squeeze were not interesting.

The Parallel BZIP2 compression results were not interesting as a whole, but the Debian Squeeze performance seems to have regressed on the tested ThinkPad.

With the popular x264 benchmark there is a nice speed-up between Lenny and Squeeze with the 64-bit virtual machine but there is not much to look at with the ThinkPad's results.

FLAC looks to be running slightly faster on newer Debian releases, but it is nothing dramatic.
