When running Dbench, the 128GB Crucial MX100 drive was now outdone by the Samsung EVO 840 by about 28% for this Linux disk benchmarking.

The performance of the Samsung SSD 840 and Crucial MX100 were close for an 8GB write test using IOzone.

The Samsung 840 SSD had a big advantage over the Crucial MX100 with carrying out random writes using the Threaded I/O Tester.

The MX100 ended with a slight win over the Samsung SSD 840 when it came to the compile test inside Compile Bench but then for the initial create workload lost slightly to the Samsung SSD 840.
