With those tests out of the way, next up is a look at the CPU rendering performance against many different systems running Ubuntu Linux with a variety of modern processors. These are mainly for reference purposes if wanting to evaluate various CPUs for usage with the new Blender 2.90. The CPUs tested were those that I had the time to do over the past few days. If there is interest I may do an even larger comparison with more CPUs and other platforms available.

With some minor speed-ups compared to Blender 2.82, the Blender 2.90 performance basically comes in line with expectations...

The AMD Zen 2 CPUs both from the desktop and server line-up tend to dominate.

Via the Phoronix Test Suite you can also compare your own system(s) performance against all of these Blender 2.90 CPU results. Simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 2009031-FI-BLENDCPUS24.
