Board Layout:

The AM1I-A motherboard requires a 24-pin ATX and 4-pin ATX12V power connectors; unfortunately this mini-ITX board has no option for using anything but these ATX power connections. Connectivity is rather limited with just two Serial ATA 3.0 ports but that should be enough for most users.

It's unfortunately there's only a PCI Express x4 slot instead of PCI Express x16, but in the next few days we're reviewing an ASRock AM1 motherboard that is mini-ITX and has a full-length PCI Express x16 slot for graphics cards.

Rear panel I/O ports on the motherboard include two PS/2, VGA, DVI, HDMI, COM, four USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, and three audio jacks... This is a fairly basic motherboard but that's to be expected for a $50 AM1 motherboard.

BIOS:

ASUS employs its standard AMI UEFI BIOS for the AM1I-A motherboard with plenty of features. There is basic overclocking support as covered already within Overclocking the AMD AM1 Athlon and Sempron APUs.
