ASUS PRIME Z270-P Kabylake Motherboard Works Fine On Linux

To no surprise, ASUS just lists Windows 7/8.1/10 as the supported operating systems for this motherboard. But I've had no problems loading various Linux distributions onto the system. Among the tests I've run to date with the ASUS PRIME Z270-P include:

- Windows 10 vs. Linux HD Graphics 630 tests.

- Intel Core i3 7100 benchmarks.

- Intel Core i5 7600K benchmarks.

- Fedora vs. Ubuntu vs. openSUSE vs. Clear Linux For Intel Steam Gaming Performance.

And several other articles, along with more results on the way. Fedora 25, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 16.10, openSUSE Tumbleweed, Intel Clear Linux, and Debian Stretch have been among the Linux distributions I tested with the PRIME Z270-P system so far. Assuming you are on one of those distributions or another one with a recent Linux kernel release and ideally the latest Mesa, you should be in good shape for support, at least as far as all core functionality is concerned.

So far I'm happy with the ASUS PRIME Z270-P purchase and it's been running great and working well for a ~$130 USD investment.
