ASRock Rack EPYCD8-2T Makes For A Great Linux/BSD EPYC Workstation - 7-Way OS AMD 7351P Benchmarks
With the HMMer molecular biology benchmark, the Intel-optimized Clear Linux platform was noticeably faster than the rest though Fedora Workstation did perform very well. FreeBSD 12 was running well in between the other Linux distributions while DragonFlyBSD failed to run HMMer.
The Golang benchmarks were difficult to draw any conclusion from besides that Linux seems to do better than the BSDs for this language, at least on AMD EPYC.
The BSDs put up a tougher fight against the Linux operating systems with the Java performance.
Clear Linux picked up another victory, this time with the TTSIOD 3D renderer.
Similar to what we've seen on other systems, one workload where FreeBSD performs extremely well is with the Himeno pressure solver.
