With the HMMer molecular biology benchmark, the Intel-optimized Clear Linux platform was noticeably faster than the rest though Fedora Workstation did perform very well. FreeBSD 12 was running well in between the other Linux distributions while DragonFlyBSD failed to run HMMer.

The Golang benchmarks were difficult to draw any conclusion from besides that Linux seems to do better than the BSDs for this language, at least on AMD EPYC.

Similar to what we've seen on other systems, one workload where FreeBSD performs extremely well is with the Himeno pressure solver.
