AMD R700 2D Driver Performance Comparison
With the GtkDrawingArea - Circles test, the Catalyst driver was abnormally slow with the RV770 GPU. It took over an hour for the Catalyst driver to complete this task!
The Catalyst driver returned to a level competitiveness in the final GtkPerf test, but still the xf86-video-radeonhd driver won.
With our first XRender-driven QGears2 test, the xf86-video-radeonhd driver had out-performed the Catalyst driver by about 16%.
