AMD Radeon Massive Linux Comparison - July 2012

With Nexuiz the results become more interesting. While the DarkPlaces-based Nexuiz is not the most demanding OpenGL Linux game, with the tweaked Git Radeon driver code many of the graphics cards now come close to running at the speed of the Catalyst blob! The Radeon HD 6870 (strangely) even ended up being faster than Catalyst when in the tweaked/Git state while other graphics cards came close. These results were rather surprising but may come down to being a performance regression within the Catalyst driver for the defunct Nexuiz game at this time -- later in this article are results from Xonotic, the Nexuiz successor.
