When compiling the Linux kernel the FX-8370/FX-8370E performance came in line with the Core i5 4670. The FX-9590 was performing slower than the FX-8370 for reasons still being investigated but might come down to either thermal issues with this 220 Watt TDP or odd clocking behavior. Stay tuned to future articles for more information after extended Linux testing.

With the C-Ray multi-threaded ray-tracer, the FX CPUs were finally giving the Intel Haswell processors a good run for their money.

The AMD APUs/CPUs basically hit a wall with their LAME MP3 encoding performance compared to the Intel hardware.
