When compiling the Linux kernel the FX-8370/FX-8370E performance came in line with the Core i5 4670. The FX-9590 was performing slower than the FX-8370 for reasons still being investigated but might come down to either thermal issues with this 220 Watt TDP or odd clocking behavior.
