The John The Ripper DES performance went up 18% with the Turbo Core 2.0 feature on Bulldozer.

While the performance may be up with Turbo Core, the CPU temperature shot up by 11°C.

The system power consumption when Turbo Core 2.0 was on went up by 22 Watts.

The very multi-threaded friendly 7-Zip benchmark had less of a benefit out of Turbo Core.

The x264 benchmark also did not benefit from Turbo Core.
