Xonotic with high image quality settings showed the open-source AMD Linux driver performing very well against Catalyst... The performance of the R9 290 even showed up as faster than Catalyst while the worst case scenario was the HD 6950 Cayman that was 19% faster on Catalyst.

Increasing the Xonotic image quality settings to ultimate showed the open-source Radeon graphics driver still performing well with and just a few percent away from the Catalyst driver.

The Plot3D synthetic test inside GpuTest showed the Catalyst 14.12 Linux driver still being significantly faster on most of the GPUs.
