As can be seen right away with the Doom 3 results, the new AMD Catalyst Linux Beta driver can actually lead to Linux gaming slowdowns. The three Radeon HD 5000/6000/7000 graphics cards were all noticeably slower with fglrx 9.1.11 rather than with the fglrx 9.0.2 as originally found in Ubuntu 12.10.
