With the GpuTest synthetic tests, the Catalyst 14.12 Linux driver on Ubuntu 14.10 x86_64 was leading over -- or in some cases the same level of performance -- as Windows 7 with Catalyst 14.12. The Catalyst Windows driver also had issues for the Radeon R9 290 in a few of the GpuTest scenarios.
