AMD Radeon R9 290: Still Not Good For Linux Users
While a synthetic OpenGL test, with the Radeon R9 290 at least here the Linux performance was more in line with expectations.
When running TessMark the R9 290 performance on Linux was back to being disappointing.
When it comes to the OpenCL compute performance, it depends upon the particular workload whether or not the Radeon + Catalyst configuration is faster than the NVIDIA hardware and its first-rate Linux driver.
