Xonotic with low image quality settings shows the pure open-source driver on Ubuntu 16.04 out-of-the-box beating out the other drivers.

However, as the visual intensity increased, the open-source driver began falling behind the proprietary OpenGL drivers.

The Radeon R9 Fury on RadeonSI Gallium3D was still giving the blobs a run for their money, but the R9 285 had fallen further behind with RadeonSI rather than AMDGPU PRO.
