OpenSSL is another one of the few real-world workloads where hopefully the next-generation EPYC processors will be able to offer better performance against the Intel Xeon Scalable processors.

The well known BMW scene for the Blender 3D modeling software can render in under one minute with the 64-cores / 128-threads of EPYC.

AMD Threadripper and EPYC processors have shown to be very strong candidates for Blender render farms.

The Dell PowerEdge R7425 with two EPYC 7601 processors also runs great with the V-RAY renderer on the CPU.

The EPYC 7601 performance is very strong with M-Queens to the extent that the EPYC 7601 comes in line with the dual Xeon Gold 6138 server.
