The Xsbench results also show the significant AMD server performance advancement over the years.

With the EPYC 7601 a Linux x86-64 default configuration can be built in about 40 seconds. With the dual Opteron 2384 configuration it takes almost three minutes. Or for the Opteron 2356, building the Linux kernel is a seven minute process.

While the power usage of the EPYC system during the kernel build process isn't that much greater than the dual Opteron 2384 Shanghai system.
