openSUSE and Clear Linux recorded strong finishes as well with the x264 video encoder.

OpenSUSE and RHEL8 were the front-runners for the Stockfish chess benchmark.

RHEL 8.0 and Clear Linux were the fastest at compiling the GCC suite.

Clear Linux though with its extra optimizations by default led to much longer build times for LLVM compared to the other distributions.

Interestingly the context switching performance was lower on Debian 10.0 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0.
