Examination:

The SilverStone KL02 measures in at 203 x 436 x 474 mm with a weight of 8kg, which is much smaller and lighter than the previously reviewed SilverStone Temjin TJ10. The KL02 has a SECC steel body with a front panel made of aluminum and wire mesh. On the front of the SST-KL02B-W are five 5.25" drive bays. However, there are an additional four 5.25" external drive bays if not using the hard drive cage. The hard drive cage is located at the bottom of the chassis and offers hot-swappable SATA support, but we will talk more about that later.

In between the hard drive cage and the upper external 5.25" drive bay, is a flip-out panel that exposes the reset switch, two USB 2.0 ports, IEEE-1394a Firewire, and two audio ports. To some dismay, there are no eSATA ports on this chassis. On the top of the chassis is the power switch. On the side panel for the SST-KL02B-W is an acrylic window like you would find on any other chassis.

At the rear of the Kublai KL02 is the ATX power supply mount, one 120mm exhaust fan, and seven expansion slots. Unlike the SilverStone Temjin TJ09 and TJ10, the KL02 doesn't have any predrilled holes for water cooling tubes.
