Intel Q965 Graphics Performance

While the Intel Q965 had lagged behind the X800XL using the open-source driver, Intel's integrated graphics solutions remain a viable option for those that care about the freedoms of open-source software and still would like to benefit from desktop eye candy through Beryl or Compiz and have X-Video playback capabilities. In only two of the SPECViewPerf benchmarks had the Intel graphics outperformed the Radeon X800XL with the open-source driver. Later in the year as X.Org 7.3 nears we will report back with additional articles looking at the various X.Org drivers along with a special look at RandR v1.2. If you have any comments to share on Intel's graphic display driver or are in need of technical support, be sure to stop by the Phoronix Forums.
