The Rust-written AV1 encoder saw slightly better performance on Linux but nothing too concerning.

With Intel's SVT-AV1 encoder, Windows 10 was faster than Ubuntu 19.10 but behind the other Linux distributions. Intel's own Clear Linux was the fastest hear for open-source AV1 encoding.

The outcome with SVT-HEVC for H.265 content was similar.

With Intel's VP9 encoder, Clear Linux remained the strongest while Windows performance fell further behind the supported Linux distributions.

The lone video encoding benchmark where Windows 10 outperformed the Linux distributions was x264.
