BIOS:

ASRock uses an American Megatrends Inc v02.58 BIOS that lacks many of the customizations of what enthusiasts would expect to find, as it closely resembles AMI's default template. The pages available are main, advanced, H/W monitor, boot, security, and exit. The main page is a system overview displaying the CPU and memory information along with the BIOS version, which in the instance of our motherboard was P1.20. Under the advanced tab, the CPU and Chipset configurations can be tampered with, which is at the minds of many enthusiasts. The CPU FSB frequency can be adjusted from 140 to 300MHz. Also available from the CPU configuration page is the CPU multiplier, however, in our instance of using a Pentium 4 530 this option was locked. On the advanced Chipset page, the DRAM timings can be adjusted, onboard VGA aperture size, VCCM, and VDDQ. The only options for the VDDQ and VCCM are low and high. The hardware health event-monitoring page displays the CPU and motherboard temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit while the CPU and chassis fan speeds are recorded. When it comes to the voltage, only the Vcore, +3.30V, +5.00V, and +12.00V. Unfortunately, this monitoring page does not allow for any dynamic control of the fans to maximize the cooling while reducing the overall noise.
