Examination:

The LapCool 3 came well packaged and undamaged. The items included were the LapCool 3 itself and a simple USB cable used for powering the fans on the cooling solution. Accenting the black plastic casing, some parts of the unit were painted silver, which looks quite sleek and attractive. On the base of the Vantec LapCool 3 are two rubber feet, which are intended to elevate the LapCool and provide space for the air to move across the bottom of the laptop. The two fans to assist in the air movement are located at the center of the laptop cooler and blow towards the laptop, rather than away. The sides of the LapCool 3 are also vented also to facilitate adequate airflow for cooling your laptop compute. To prevent the laptop cooler, and ultimately the laptop, from sliding around during operation, Vantec has placed four rubber feet on the bottom of their LapCool 3 unit. Looking at the dimensions of this unit, its size was perfect for one of our 14" IBM/Lenovo T42 units. In fact, not only did its size match up but also its appearance. In our tests, there were no problems with the laptop or the unit sliding around during use.
