Adding in some results on this system from OpenSSL, the Xen mode -- like the C-Ray results -- were faster. It was an 18% improvement in performance.

For both of the tested kernels, this ThinkPad W510 notebook was consuming 24% more power when the kernel was booted to handle Xen virtualization.

These results are quite strange, but match what was reported in the Phoronix Forums.
